New Girl

I've never missed the first day of school in a new school year, until this year. Because I dislike being the only new one in the class, missing the assignments (especially this! I have to hurry to get the tasks done and afraid if I couldn't keep track of the homework etc), the groupings, and stuff. And because I have never been the new girl, considering I grew up in the same school since I was kindergarten to high school. I was always the "old one" and I knew everyone in my year. But I guess there's always a first time for everything (well, this one is the second time and it still sucks) and I just hope that this new school year will be good to me (please, please pretty pretty please).

You know, I wanted to describe what did I do that day when I took these pictures but I'm still *:s* (whatever that is) about this new girl thing. But, just to make you guys not questioning where did that cute store located, it was in Surry Hills, Sydney. That store did not only sell clothing, but also tidbits (meaning small homewares) and fashion books! How lovely :) And I'm so sorry I forgot the shop's name x.x (bad news, even for me)...

Let me mourn for a few more days about this disturbing thing (yep, still disturbing)...

Ciao.

Head Piece

Not an outfit post, because I dedicate this post to my head piece, which was created by my sister. I love her. Her creativity advantage me! Haha, I'm evil, yes? I just wanna thank her because she made such a beautiful piece for my hair/head. I love it and wanna wear it everyday!

Laurent

Hello, everybody. Short words from me today. I just got back from a small, humble reunion with my high school friends and meeting them just reminded me of how much I miss high school. So, if you're still in high school, please cherish every moment and have loads, loads of fun because it might be the best of the best time of your life. Don't you agree, people who graduated from high school? ;)

Pictures were taken in the beautiful, high-ceiling patisserie Laurent in Melbourne. The place is really pretty and perfect for a Sunday afternoon tea, or any-day-afternoon-tea. At that time my siblings and I ordered the cake Trio, which was one of the best from theirs, and also doughnut and strawberry tart. Oh man, I'm a sucker for strawberry tarts, or strawberry cheesecake, or strawberry shortcake, or any strawberry dessert. Ironic, considering strawberry is not my favorite fruit. But strawberries can look beautifully appealing on desserts and also give a contrast flavor to a sweet pastry. So they are yummy.

Anyway, I was returning back to my hometown that day so I opted for a comfy look such as this oversized sweater and leggings. There's nothing I hate more than flying with jeans. I always fly with leggings or cotton pants. And thanks to the trend now, the printed pants are usually kind of nice to wear during long flight. Or you know, if you couldn't careless, you could wear your pajamas ;)

Ciao.

The Opera

Imagination is my best friend. It follows me whenever, wherever, and it allows me to wander inside my own mind. Imagination might be most of designers' best friend, because quoting from an anon "designers draw and see an object that doesn't exist". Well, objects. Not only fashion designers, but any people who work within the art industry. Take an example, an architect.

The architect who built Sydney's Opera House was inspired by an orange to build such an iconic building. An orange! And maybe when I was still a kid I thought to myself "why the hell this building is so special?", but now I was just awe-struck with the non-symmetrical facade. Much like the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, this building is not the same when you see it in different point of views, but of course, less Postmodern than the Gehry's building.

And there are pictures, to see what I mean :)

You see, imagination can be taken from anywhere. Where your mind travels, you wouldn't know, but when it reaches the destination it wants to, pour it down. Maybe something in between can light you up when you're stuck. Imagination doesn't need to be searched from the deep valleys or the highs of the skies. They come from small things. Therefore, feel grateful for whatever it is that keeps your brain work and alive. But don't push yourself to think of something you can't think. Maybe you need time, maybe you need refreshments. You don't know when the idea just strike you and leave you speechless by the way your brain works yourself ;) well, who knows?

Keep being inspired, people!

Ciao.
