Prague, Czech Republic

In this trip I packed very lightly and by lightly I mean one small luggage so it could fit the back of the car--along with 4 of my friends' luggages--since we had a road trip. So my strategies were to maximise the usage of each garment so they could be mixed and matched in repeat without having to wear the same outfit twice.

When we arrived at night on New Year's Eve, I felt Prague was… not pretty. We had a lame New Year celebration as well, on a boat with horrible buffet and on the countdown we went up to the top deck and saw terrible fireworks and people on the bridges throwing beer bottles to the river, which was very dangerous because boats were passing under the bridges! However, it was still memorable because it's not where you are, again, it's WHO you are with and I felt grateful I got to spend that New Year's Day 1 January 2014 with amazing friends!

In the morning, we actually scheduled to leave Prague and headed straight to Stuttgart, but we drove around the city for a while after looking for a restaurant (which was hard to find since it was a New Year's day, so we ate Chinese food!) Then, we decided to roam around the city that turned out to be beautiful and postponed our journey to Stuttgart. We went to
Little did we know, the Czechs celebrated New Year's Day with loads of fireworks on the night of 1st January, not at midnight between 31st December and 1st January! So when we left the city, it was practically traffic jam because people are standing in the streets watching fireworks! It was weird, but it's interesting to know that different culture celebrate a common event differently and that's what I love about travelling; you always find out something new.

This is the view of our New Year, okay? Imagine how in disbelief we were when we see only one firework every 30 seconds.

Vienna, Austria

Back again in this lovely country. I just realised this road trip was mostly around Austria. While we were at it, my friends and I didn't forget to try their traditional food which are schnitzels, sacher torte--tried it in Hotel Sacher where it was one of the two places the sacher cake first served, and bratwurst hotdog (this was actually originated from Germany, but they're like siblings so the Austrians also sell a lot of bratwurst hot dogs!) Anyway, Schloss Schönbrunn was beautiful, one of the most beautiful palaces I've ever been to. I still think Versailles in France is the best so far. Oh, and we also watched the opera in Vienna State Opera! People do dress up to go to this kind of thing and it felt so cool, although my seat was not perfect. I don't mind going to one of these shows again. I don't remember what show I watched, which I feel is ridiculous because I can't seem to remember anything at this moment, but it was pretty cool. We only got a day in Vienna so didn't do much except visiting the very touristy sites and just sight-seeing.

Back to Being Bipolar

Well, not me! The weather, of course. You just can't stop complaining about the weather until the sun really showed up and you said, "Oh it's sunny today..." Then the rain came a few hours later (with the sun still out), and commented, "I can't believe it's raining!" That's London, unfortunately. As lovely as this city is, sometimes (okay, most of the time) the weather just drives you cray cray.

So, in tribute of the bad rainy weather, I'll present to you a gloomy set of what was supposed-to-be-a-bright-Brighton-beach. Our fault, actually, to come to Brighton beach (the one in Melbourne, not in the actual Brighton) in a wintry day. But, you know, being me, I was like, "I WANNA SEE HOW THOSE COLORFUL 'HOUSES' LOOK LIKE!"

They were still colorful, of course. Just with a greyish background.

Look how the wind blew really hard it made my dress looked balloony

The dress was very cool, one of my favorites, because it could be styled into 9 different ways. I always love clothing that have multiple designs, you know. So even though it was pricey, it was totally worth it! I could wear it in formal/informal occasions. W.O.M.B is a Singapore local brand, and it is available in Ion and Bugis. I bought the dress a few years back, though, so I'm pretty sure it's not there anymore. But, heads up for new designs! :)

Anyway, whenever I traveled I basically took my outfit posts, right? And it kinda sucked to have the same bag and shoes in every picture, just different clothing. I knew it myself without my brother reminded me, "Ew, why did you take outfit posts? You wore the same bag and shoes!" Well, I'M SORRY I COULDN'T BRING MY WHOLE WARDROBE OVERSEAS! That was the reaction I wanna give to him. But, hm, don't mind hahaha...

Ciao.

P.S. I know they are not "houses". But I don't know what their function is. Like, housing the boats? Or cafes? Do they open in summer? Any Ozzies want to answer this? :)
