Guide to New York City Day 4

Our first agenda of the day is The Statue of Liberty because they have several schedules that we have to follow because it required us to ride a ferry to Liberty Island, otherwise we won't make it if we go after noon. My friends and I started off in the Battery Park which is also the place to the The Sphere, 9/11 Memorial, but we didn't maintain to go there :/

The weather on Day 4 was the worst because it was raining, windy, foggy, and grey just. like. London. But we were not complaining because we were so thankful of the opportunity to be in NYC (I really can't stop gushing how in awe I was of that city!) Also, my very talented photographer friend, Fitria Tjandra, documented the whole thing beautifully with her camera that was very heavy but she brought it to make memories.

The Statue of Liberty took half of our day already, so after that we went to Fifth Avenue to recharge our eyes with beautiful window displays and spent a little penny here and there. We went our own ways because waiting for people to shop would be time-consuming and everybody had their own list to be checked. I, myself, strolled around and stumbled on The Rockefeller Center Plaza where they had flags of countries around the world--a sight not to be missed while in New York--also since it was an Easter Break, they had Easter Egg installations in the front of it, reminded me of the Easter Egg Hunt in London where they had all kinds of creative eggs designed by artists and designers.

I shopped some makeup products in Sephora--at that time I was pretty blind about makeup so I didn't buy much, just a NARS blusher and BITE lipstick--and I'm cursing myself right now because U.S.A. is a home of many amazing makeup products! And I just got those two in Sephora!

Dinner was amazeballs, FYI. We ate in Totto Ramen. Glorious. We walked to a snack joint called Holey Cream, then afterwards my friend's friend apartment, and back to the AirBNB at last.

Christmas Gift Guide

I know Christmas gifts shopping can be very difficult and sometimes frustrating, more than we could ever imagine. Maybe because of how close it is already to Christmas and we all know who we are, shopping at the last minute, so I'm here to inspire you to search for student-budget Christmas shopping. These gifts might be given to your parents, siblings, friends, anyone actually but my main focus is to have them in good price range, the ones that don't make our wallets cry.

Therefore I Write

I should be writing an essay instead of writing a blog post. But tell me how because it is way way harder than it looks. I am quite bad at writing something academically, formally. I guess I should read more. And not the trashy books that I usually read, the ones with deeper essences like biographies and politics. Okay, scrap that I won't read politics. I should stick to the ones I enjoy.

I could write pages and pages of stories informally, without having to care I put the words 'and' and 'but' after full stops. Or having to compress 100 waffled sentences into 30 qualified instead. Shouldn't repeat the same words within one paragraph. I mean, I love writing and reading. But having the need to rummage through every words to get or deliver the meaning is time consuming and brain wrenching. Nonetheless I still like doing essays though (bear with this labile me, would you?)

I thought I would never like paisleys on any clothing because I thought they only suit scrapbooks, tea party and pastels. But this top from Topshop, J.W. Anderson's first collab with this high street retailer, made me fall in love with it on the first sight. It just amped up any look I donned, such a statement piece remembering the quilts and the full print. And the colours can be considered as unusual as well. It effortlessly embodies the vintage-looking garment, even though it's not. I fell in love with the brand J.W. Anderson instantly.

Agree to Disagree

I read this statement on my twitter timeline; "You never learn anything from people who agrees with you all the time." I actually took a minute to think and have to agree with it. My mind went directly to the times when my friends and I had arguments and discussions or even debates when we didn't have the same opinions (which quite frankly happens a lot of times). But at the end of those arguments about stuff, even though we agreed to disagree, there were always something to be picked as a lesson(s). Because you would've not known about the truth that lies beneath the things you believe if you haven't listen to others' opinions. My opinions aren't the most righteous among all, that is why I always learn something after the discussions.

I consider myself as an opinionated person. Very. I have strong beliefs about certain stuff and when people are against my opinions, usually I debated them back. I usually say what I want to say, sometimes saying words I didn't mean, sometimes being emotional, and they usually would "fight" back. I had this emotion boiling inside me when they disagreed with what I said, feeling this person is so weird because they're not on the same page as I am, but I actually don't mind. Because I always learn from them. And it's good to see what others have to say because then you are not one-sided, and you can think about a certain topic in different ways. That way, you'll learn to be wiser, more knowledgeable, and be more thoughtful :)

I think pastels is my go to colours when in doubt. And this look is probably my mantra one of these days. Shirt / shirtdress / dress underneath oversized sweater / jumper. Because come on, man, we're supposed to be in Spring season slash weather already but it feels a lot more like Winter instead. I'm still wearing three layers.............. At least the sun is out *yippiiieee* Really psyche about it cause it had also been beautifully sunny in Scotland when I was there and the sun continues to shine till now (that's a happy face right there, people!)

I personally like the colour combination and the coat! Oh my God the coat is absolutely gorgeous. The pink is the right pink, the shape is the right shape, and it just fits her. And look at the detail of the puffed sleeve. Cute alert :3
