Hello, humans. I'm quite taking a risk here by blogging but I'm. So. Bored. Not like bored-I-don't-have-anything-to-do. It's the opposite. It's bored-I-have-too-many-things-to-do. My portfolio deadline is a week away, as the title say, and well, even though I'm halfway done but obviously, need to do more.

As a normal student, I just can't wait for Spring Break right now. I have loads of plans already. That included queuing for Marni for H&M on the 8th of March but the plan was ruined right after I heard that I will have a presentation that day. Noooooooooo.... What am I supposed to do?

Anyhoo, this was one of the photoshoot for my sweet 17th birthday, which was... one and a quarter year ago. Time was flying like s**t.

This dress is made from mens' shirts and look how beautifully done it is. Me likey even though I can't wear it everyday.

You Are My Sunshine, My Only Sunshine

Been working on my portfolio lately. I should ace this. It's the passion you want to strive for and the dream you'd do anything to get :)

I went to the Saatchi Gallery last week. It was literally the best art gallery I've ever been too. The art is very contemporary (very me) and the artworks were very well spaced. From outside it looked like a small house, but inside there were 15 rooms to showcase the artworks that include sculptures, installations, paintings, and even a pool of oil (yes, you read it right). It's cool. The artists who committed to make such unbelievable pieces must be very, very gifted. Anyone who go to London should visit this gallery, especially if you're more interested in modern art than the old, boring paintings....... *okay, not gonna judge* *oops, just did* *sorry*

The building architecture was mixed between minimalism and artsy. You can see all the glass and brick at the same time. It was pretty cool. And they have loads of partition, which I like.

When I first came into this room, the smell was striking definitely, but I had no idea it was oil. I thought it was a black glass or cloth that covered half height of the room because you see the reflection right? I thought it was the ground, or the floor. And then it struck me. It was like, how did he do this? (Well, he probably just poured down !@#$%^&*() liter of oil...)

I'm really sorry for not taking notes of all the artists. At that time I was too caught up with the artworks that I forgot to take pictures of the artists' badges, or name and title stuff that galleries usually put on the wall. Naughty, naughty me. You should never ever do that because recognition of the artists is very important.

London Fashion Week 18 February 2012

Before I say anything, I want to apologize for the date and time stated on the photographs. My friend forgot to change the format on her camera. But overall, we got some pretty good pictures. Not professionally whatsoever but still worth the look.

A lot of people dressed up really well. Well, how would your expect it to be like? It's fashion week! It's that time where you want to show off at least one of the pieces in your wardrobe. In this case, it's still my Bao Bao bag. I'm totally in love with it.

Topshop had these t-shirts sold that was linked directly to the British fashion designers such as Mary Katrantzou and Jonathan Saunders. The t-shirt that was designed by Mary Katrantzou was sold in store for

£30. Not my style, but for those who like full-floral t-shirts, feel free to grab one from the nearest Topshop.

Instantly my favorite piece of jewelry among all the products showcased. The brand is Cabinet. Look at how the designer played with all these elements; glass, beads, ropes, metal. It's definitely the kind of necklace I would want to wear.

And to close, these are the bags from a Belgium designer. The bags are SO me.

One thing to make it clear, I did not go inside to watch the catwalks. The exhibition pass was only allowing me to see the exhibition, period. And not all people can get it. I do have a blog so I asked for the pass. I wouldn't have knew about it if my friends who came earlier than me didn't mention that bloggers can come inside. So it's still something.

Anyway, I'm very glad that I live in one of the fashion capitals in the world. Because if these kinds of things happen, I can just hop inside the tube, travel for around 30 to 45 minutes underground (or only 15 minutes if the location is near my studio), arriving at the place, and feel the vibe of the great things I used to only read on the magazines or watch on movies.

Yes, Valentine's Day, Pure London, and LFW are all happening this week.

Funny, I will go to Pure London on Vals day because I don't have plans on that day and I'm not invited to LFW. But don't worry, I'll go there too. My tutor said "Just go! Who knows you can sneak in and watch the show?" or something like that. I've never thought of that before but now because she mentioned it, I'll definitely be there with my camera, ready to hunt some fashionable pictures. Even though my camera is not professional at all. Hahahaha...

So here are some pictures from my last trip to Canada... Yes, again. I'm not done with it yet :P

Borough Market

I went to Borough Market last two weeks. It is located near the London Bridge and it's perfect for food-hunting. Nyum nyum.

Look how dark the sky was. Fortunately it wasn't raining or else the food-hunting-day would be ruined.

Very very delicious roasted potatoes with melted cheese. The best.

Tried the chocolate tart and the éclair. I prefer the éclair.

Yes. My friends and I tried it. It was like beef. At first I was scared to try but my friends convinced me it was yummy so I did take a bite. Turned out it was.

Hey how's everyone doing? I have nothing much to tell except that right now I'm eating a bowl of fusili and minced beef, without the bolognese sauce. Stoopid me, realized that the sauce has expired AFTER I cooked the minced beef and boiled the fusili. So now I'm topping it up with cheese. Sounds NOT delicious, I know.

Okay, SO... These pictures were taken on the last day of my family vacation to Canada. I forgot the name of our last city before heading to Toronto Airport. But the view was quite amazing. It was that island that contained a thousand island, if that's even possible. I mean, there was a villa for each island and to get there you should ride a ferry/ boat.

It's snowing today. Don't you just love the snow? It's white, pure, "clean", peaceful, soft... Very... delicate. That's the word. Delicate.

Every time I see snow, I have this urge to eat it. You know, cause I'm an ice cube freak.

Portobello Market

The famous Portobello Market. I love this place. You can find antique stuff and good food. I found a store called the Applebee and it was cute, you know. Sort of like Korean clothing but it's actually a UK brand. Maybe I need to buy some of their stuff.

You may heard the Portobello from the movie Notting Hill starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. What I've read (because I haven't see it...remind me to!) is when Julia Roberts couldn't afford to buy the stuff in one of the shops, Richard Gere bought her the whole things from the shop. Oh God. Need. To. Watch. It. ASAP.

I don't know they sell fake Cambridge Satchels in the market @.@

Lots of crepes sellers, but the best one is not from here.

No outfit picture on that day because I was simply being simple. A pair of jeans, long sleeves, trench coat, and boots. Typical winter costume. See ya later on the next outfit post!

It's very gloomy and freezing and sleeting and raining here in London. It's quite a depressing mood, you know. It's the time of life when you just want to hide behind your blanket and consume lots and lots of hot chocolate. But anyway, I'm not gonna complain about the weather (even though I want to) but I can't be selfish for this is more like a "fashion" blog, not a "weather forecast" blog.

You guys must have heard about The Cambridge Satchel Company. I've heard about it years and years ago but I think it gets more booming in late 2011 and now. My sister knew about it like approximately the same time as me and she wanted it so bad she finally bought it in one of the stores in Sydney. In yellow. I think I like that color the best because I'm not a big fan of neon colors and the dark colors of Cambridge Satchel is not that eye-catching, you know.

So they have these various range of designs from the classic;

The metallic;

The limited stock;

The fluoro;

The designer;

The batchel;

The music bag;

Actually, the purple is quite nice as well. And their limited stock's colors are pretty too. But, my sister opted for the classic yellow. Anyhoo, I've never try to wear it since I haven't meet her and exchange our bags even though I want to so bad.

It's not too pricey because it's sort of a new-designer, high street kinda company. The bags are around 70

£ - 130£ . It's very popular in the UK. My sister's friend said that there are 10 people in her class wearing this bag. In my year, there are a few, including the tutor. It's also starting to trend in Indonesia because last time I went home I saw this girl wearing the Cambridge Satchel but in light glossy brown. I'm not sure it's the real one or not but you know, Urban Outfitters and Liberty also sell different colors from the website so who knew?

I think it's worth the buy because it looks good and match easily with many outfits, but the opening is kinda hard. Anyway, which one from the pictures above is your favorite?

Happy Chinese New Year

I will not post anything red because I don't get to celebrate this year's Chinese New Year with my beloved big family :'( I'm all alone here *pitying myself...not*

Well, my friends and I have dinner plans. One executed already, and the other one is on the CNY day. So that means tonight. We tried to book this really good Chinese restaurant but because we were too late, so we didn't get the table. We secured a table in another restaurant, though. The most important thing is the fact that you get to spend it... with people, even though not family :D

We didn't realize that we have to book a restaurant, you know, we knew CNY is coming, but we didn't like excited about it because the vibe here is just not obvious. The only place where it's celebrated is Chinatown. And Trafalgar Square later on this week.

Rings, Things, and Layers

The weather is really cold, it's impossible for me to wear only two layers. I have at least three layers of clothing when I go out. I don't know how some people managed to go out only with one pair of legging. Or even tights! It's not snowing, though. I'm not sure if I want this winter to snow... because the weather is freezing enough, without the wind. But on the other hand, it'll be kinda cool to snow, making it a white winter or something :)

Oh, and I can't BELIEVE I lost one of my rings from H&M. It's this 'love-word' ring, it's very comfy to wear you almost not notice you're wearing it... and that's why I lost it :( because I didn't realize it was gone until I watched my bare fingers. This is the second time I lost my accessories here. I never lost mine in Indonesia... oh, except for a Stitch hair clip. That hair clip is so cute I'm still looking for it. I hope I find it!

Nothing much is going on lately, except for the fact that school has started and I miss home. But you know, maybe things will get better and I will be back as a London girl who enjoy shopping very much (already did!). Sale is pretty much still ON and my energy for shopping is definitely ON. I've been treating myself a Zara shopping spree because other brands' sales aren't as interesting ;D

I miss my long hair too. Oh, but you don't know why. It's because I cut my hair. Yep. And next time I'll post pictures on how short. It's very short. A very drastic change. Like, actually, I wanted to cut it short and then perm it, so it will look like my hair on the pictures above, but shorter, but then maybe perming is not such a good idea cause it will damage the hair whatsoever as people say. So... maybe next time? Or never? I don't know. I still want to, though. Maybe on July when I go back to my hometown.

Hi, sorry for not updating this blog over the holiday. Now that I'm back to my laptop, I can blog regularly :)

I'm back in this beautiful city. Unfortunately, as stunning as this metropolitan city is, if you're not with your family, you're most likely being sad.... :( like me. I cried during cleaning my studio just after I got back. I miss my mama and papa already. I'm like, really, really, really, duper, hyper sad. And I haven't eat dinner. And my Blackberry isn't on yet because I haven't buy the top up cards. And... (the list will go on and on... I'm such a complainer).

I REALLY MISS MY MOM AND DAD!!!!!! *sobbing, while typing*

But I'll always keep this in mind; this is for my dream. Who says that doing your university course overseas is all about fun and happy and exciting and etc etc? The process includes tears (clearly), hard work, mixed cultures, and probably, for some of you (and me), being alone. This is for achieving my goal.

Color Block in November 2011

I'm sorry I've been neglecting this blog for a couple of weeks. I've been dealing with some sort of problems, like going back to my hometown (last minute shopping and packing...not really, but sort of), and the very sad moment of the year, my family and I lost my grandpa 2 days after I arrived. But I know he's in a better place now...

And not bringing my laptop back is not helping at all (I'm just too lazy to carry around heavy stuff in the airport) so I need to borrow my younger brother's laptop if he's not using it, which is like 0.0000000000000000001% chance happening. He's always in front of his laptop. I don't know that online game is still trending jsdbywugehfbkfnsikhcu (that was me being irritated).

However, now that I'm back on my saddle (even though I don't have any horse), I'll present to you (drum rolls) the color block in November 2011! --> This outfit post was taken in November. 2011 that is.

Nevertheless, I'm enjoying my holiday right now. I never thought I could miss Surabaya THAT much. The decision to go home was very sudden. I didn't plan to, but then I changed my mind. I miss my family, friends, and the food. Three Fs that keep you alive.

I've made a list on what food I'd like to eat here (Bon Ami, Bu Kris, nasi goreng jawa, La Rucola, etc etc etc).
I've made a list on what things I'd like to buy (loads and loads of instant cooking materials, sauces, fabrics and threads, etc etc etc).
I've made a list on what things I'd like to do (relaxing and doesn't have to deal with home chores i.e. cleaning up my own room and cook!, beautify myself in the salon, massage (heaven!), etc etc etc).
And finally, to spend time with my family during Christmas and New Year's Eve, the most wonderful times of year! And of course, New Year, but you know, it's not the same year... if you get what I mean.

So, what are your plans for the holiday? And what are YOU planning to wear on Christmas and New Year, the most wonderful times of the year (see? I'm repeating it)???

Just wait till Spring 2012 and you'll get more colors again. It's just the cycle, you know. Spring/Summer is more cheerful, colorful and Autumn/Winter is more subtle, cooler (duh?), but I like both color tones. But this time...

Be Proud

I'm gonna start this post by saying none of the content I will talk about is purposed to offend you because this is just my thought. It may sounds sarcastic (cause maybe there's some sarcasm in it) but really, it's just my thought. You may disagree.

I've been hearing girls want to be skinnier. In fact, loads of time. More than loads. I know what it's like not to be skinny, because I'm not. But the problem is, the girls who say they want to be skinny, or thinner, or "#decemberwish successful diet" or "#foreverwish become thinner" are already normal in the BMI stage (sorry for talking biologically). I don't even know how to respond to this (I don't have to), but it's like a flame that's boiling me inside. I mean, those girls are 45kg and want to be "skinnier"? If they're calling themselves "fat", then how about people above 50kg? Obese? No. It's all wrong in all kinds of way.

I, personally, would like myself to be more ideal in weight. But, my BMI is normal, so I don't sweat too much. I still eat what I want whenever I want it. I don't hold myself back just to impress someone I don't know. I eat unhealthy food sometimes and I don't eat salad for my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I eat meat. I exercise.... sorta. I skipped meals once in a while (very rarely) and not because I want to starve myself to death to reach a 50kg, but because sometimes I need those time to work on my homework or projects (I know it's not good so I try to change this habit because I don't want my parents worrying about whether I have eaten lunch or dinner already). And sometimes I joke I want to divide my excess body weight to skinny people who needs it, but almost all the time, I'm proud to be who I am. Even though I don't have that Victoria's Secret model's bod. But I have something better to offer to other people other than the way I look.

I appreciate celebrities like the Kardashians sisters or Demi Lovato who's proud to be themselves and go to the gym regularly just to stay healthy, not to burn their whole calories. They are the true role models. Who says if they're skinnier they would be more beautiful? You think Kim Kardashian will look that hot if she's 38kg?

I'm glad now the media is starting to show more curvy people on ads or tv shows and not skulls or bones only. People need to get more real. You see those models on the cover of magazines? Photoshop. You think they don't have cellulite? They do (I don't know hahaha, but probably most of them do).

So why do you need to be skinny? To get sick easily? To make other people impressed when most of the time they will think about themselves rather than put the attention on you? Maybe some of you readers right now would think, "she's just posting this because she's insecure". Well, guess what? I am. But I don't let my insecurities get the best of me. I'd rather embrace the good parts of me than focus on the bad ones. Why don't you do that too? Or spread the words to other girls that you know who's already thin enough but wants to be thinner and this sentence is mixed up and grammatically error.

P.S. Be proud of who you are, even though you don't feel you're the most perfect person alive. I mean, let's face it, who's perfect? What you feel inside about yourselves, transfer to the outside. If you, yourself don't feel that you're beautiful, then when people look at you, they would see nothing. But if you have confidence, they will respect you, or even adore you.

P.P.S. Lame joke; Nobody's perfect. I'm nobody. Therefore I'm perfect.

Issey Miyake Bao Bao

Have you heard of Issey Miyake? You should have. I was familiar with the designer's name, but never stumbled upon the stores (surprise surprise, there's only an LV store in Surabaya...but I'm sure loads will follow).

Issey Miyake, according to my cousin, is popular through this perfume;

I don't know if it's true or not but the bottle seems iconic, no?

And well, I think Issey Miyake has more signature styles, such as the Bao Bao bag!

At first I saw a person wearing it in white, and it directly caught my eye. I fell in love with it at the first sight. I was like, where did she get it? What brand is it from? I thought she bought it like in Camden market or something (silly me, if I tell her what I thought she must be pissed cause I didn't know how much it costs, but now I do don't worry). And then, there was the second time when I saw another lady wore this (also in white) when I was in the toilet in Selfridges (see how I remembered every single detail from not knowing till like, owning this bag?). I was still thinking, where did they get THIS ah-mazing bag? Especially at that time I was studying about textures and I made some sort of similar texture for one of my assignments and these just reminded me of Louvre.

Days passed, years gone by (I'm exaggerating).... and THEN... the final moment... *drum rolls* my cousin and I, after shopping, strolled down Bond St, on our way home and suddenly she was like, "Oh that bag is cute!" as she walked and I turned, I looked at a similar bag in yellow, not rectangular, but sort of sphere. I thought, "OH MY GOD! That was the bag I was searching for! Even better!" And I told my cousin everything. Then I saw the shop's name; Pleats Please by Issey Miyake. "Oh! Issey Miyake! A Japanese. No wonder." But the store was closed so I couldn't come in and like investigating the details, what was it made from, how does it look like when I hold it in my hand whatsoever, so I planned to come back the next day.

The next day, my cousin whatsapp'ed me when I was in class, she told me all the details. It's very light, not made by leather so when it's raining you don't need to cover up anything, no zipper, and blablabla. I was like, "I'm coming straight to the store right when my class finished" and I did. I was very interested in the sphere one rather than the rectangular one because it's more unique (I'll show the pictures laterrr when I post my outfit post) but sadly there were only three colors; black, blue, and yellow. I like the blue one, but I just bought a blue bag and ironically I don't have a black bag with me, so I bought the black one instead because the yellow doesn't really pop (there was some mixes of gold in it, so it was yellow-gold-ish). The rectangular, however, have loads of colors to choose from; purple, green, shocking pink, silver, gold, orange, and I love every single of them but I love the sphere one more so I was very happy when I got my ownership upon one of those bags! I was about to wait till next year when they probably produce more colors, but I just...loved...it...too...much to let go and who knows, I mean the store attendant said that this was the first time they produced the bags again after three years of absence because one of the customers asked for it (maybe a VERY important customer).... Maybe there will be more colors next year--especially for S/S--or maybe none at all. I'm not taking any risk, so I bought it. My friends and tutors loved it. My sister loves it. I love it. The end. Now it's mine. Go envy me.

Sweet Surrender

I am extremely happy because I handed my portfolio in already today in the morning. So that means now I have loads of time for shopping! And believe me, London is the best place to shop. Okay, maybe people in in New York or in LA or in Paris or in Milan or in Tokyo or in Singapore wouldn't agree. BUT, it is one of the best places anyway, do not disagree! Hahahaha... And it's really fun when your friends are as excited about shopping as you are :D We're planning on shopping trips! Hurray!!!

I still got 2 short essays to be submitted but they are not graded and I've finished one of em so I might do the other one tomorrow (and some of you might be thinking right now why the heck she's telling us this).

I Fell For You

Yes, I did. Probably. I didn't want to, but I did. It started out by misunderstanding, really. I mistook everything in the first place. I knew it isn't what you meant, but well, I was the one to blame. And then, things started getting pretty awkward. And I've done ridiculous stuff like shouting your name all of a sudden in the middle of a crowd, even though I didn't mean to. I was surprised myself. Fortunately no one noticed, or did they? I don't know.

For a whole year, I was in denial. I was like, no no no no no no no no, I did not fall for you. No, I didn't. It was more like a crush, cause you know, love is a strong word. But then, somebody tweeted something like if you have been crushing for more than four months, then it was love. I was still like, no way. I still believed it was just a crush. But then I thought about it, then this sort of sense was just creeping in and I changed my perspective. I didn't do much after that, like there wasn't a big dramatic change in the relationship whatsoever. But maybe, I was falling in love. I don't know (bear with the words, it's like everybody's favorite sentence!). I haven't figure it out until now because I don't know what love is, really. Love is vague. Who can describe love? I love God, I love my family, but like, for you? I mean, that is... :/ I'm not sure about that.

However, times have passed. I'm finally letting go. Letting go of something I've never had. Maybe the change of place, or maybe because a year has gone by, but I don't think of you that way anymore. I don't hope for something out of you anymore. I'm not waiting again.

So you just go your own way, I will go my way. And maybe someday, we can continue being friends, not like an awkward kinda friend, but friend, in a friendly way with a friendly conversation :)

MnM's world, as what's written on the plastic, is available in London, New York, Vegas, and Orlando. I'm lucky to be here. Anyway, MnM's world is like Disneyland, but full of chocolates. Okay, there are no games whatsoever, but there are (statues?) and the characters walking around for customers to take pictures. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance. Thank God It's Thursday

Not that tomorrow I have no class or anything, but tomorrow's class will only be for one and a half hours so yiipiiiee! Students are students, you can't expect them to be excited about going to school everyday.

Okay. Story: I almost cried because I miss Indonesian food too much. This is the thing that's going on in my mind for the past couple of days. I miss sambal, I miss good rice, I miss nasi goreng jawa, ayam penyet, bakwan penyet, pentol, tahu telor, sop merah, sayur asem, jangan bening, soto, rawon, EVERYTHING!!! I just realized that I'm an Asian food type of girl because when my cousin asked me what type of food I favored? I can't answer the question, I always said, "I can eat anything. I mean, I love Western food as much as Asian food. I love sushi, steak, pasta, pandan chicken, and sandwich. All." Guess what? I hate sandwich. Okay, I don't hate hate sandwich, I just don't like it as my lunch. Or dinner. I.want.the.nasi.goreng.I.used.to.have.at.home! Now I have to cook by myself :(

Beware of Hacker

The weather is getting colder and colder. I wore three layers today and it's still wasn't enough. Or maybe it was because I wore three thin layers... Hmmm... Should start wearing trench coat soon. And shop for more trench coats ;)

So around last week my cousin got her Facebook account hacked. This hacker asked a lot of my cousin's friends for money. A few of them almost transfer the money, most of them knew already it was a hack, and one did transfer the money. It was so confusing, so irritating, so weird, and I don't know, I just wanted to tell the hacker to get a life. I mean, you can use those time looking for a job instead hacking people's account and asked money from people. My cousin had changed her password and e-mail, but the hacker got in again today. I don't know, Mr./Mrs. No Life, maybe you're good at technology, but you sure are no good in getting a real job.

People, just beware of hackers. If somebody you know ask you for money via the Internet where you can't see his/her face, then find out more why (s)he needs it, or ask his/her parents, or anything just not to be tricked.

The hacker even talked to me, but fortunately I didn't reply him/her, because I was with my cousin at that time -.- so so stupid. (S)he even called me the nickname my sister gave to me, so I really thought it was my cousin. So I was like, "Did you just talk to me via FB?" and my cousin answered, "Uh, no?" And I asked her again twice, and she answered no twice too. I was getting a bit confuse and decided not to bother again until her friends and her sister told her her Facebook account was being hacked.

Lesson of the day: BEWARE OF HACKER!

Camden

This is my first time going to Camden Market. The first time I heard about this market is from one of my favorite authors when I was younger, Cathy Hopkins in her fiction novels Mates, Dates, and ........ Have you guys ever heard about those novels? The second time, I think, was from one of the Olsens' movies, Winning London where they had this scene in Cyberdog. From then on I had this mind that Camden is a place where young people dress up as crazy as they want without getting awkward stares from passers-by (like Halloween everyday, probably). And from what a friend of mine who had been to Camden said, Camden is like a city of its own.

But, when I came up there, it wasn't as surprising or thrilling... However, it was still a place worth the visit cos you may found something unique or cool, like a delicious bubble milk tea stand. Kidding. But the bubble milk tea was the best I've tried so far in London (still can't beat the bubble milk tea from Asia, don't worry).

but they were REALLY cute! the left one giggled a lot and the right one grabbed my finger when i gave it to her awww :')

So actually, the price for clothes or accessories or any other thing is quite... it was okay. But if I were to choose between Camden or H&M and Forever 21, I'd still choose the latter. The clothes in Camden was not THAT good, not like handmade English outfits, just mass-produced clothes. However, there were quite a lot of Halloween costumes shop, so head there if you want to buy something for this 31st of October.

Right now the streets in Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square and some in the tube stations are varied with people who wear costumes already! Mostly they painted their face white with some blood. I saw a Katy Perry, the plumber Mario, a pumpkin, many nurses, many zombies... I wanted to dress as an iPod, or a pizza, or Dora the Explorer, but didn't spend any time to make the costumes so well, I don't know what I'm going to be next Monday. How about you guys? What are you going to dress up as?

Living overseas could be very exciting, yet tiring. The exciting parts are; you live independently, you make new friends, you experience other cultures, you see shops that you don't see in your hometown, you shop, and so on. The tiring parts...are; you live independently, you make new friends, you experience other cultures, you see shops--wait, the last part is not tiring, it's refreshing!

However, now I don't have any driver who could drive me anywhere when I'm tired walking. I should take the tube or the bus or the taxi (well, obviously the last one is not for daily). And when it's raining... UGH... it's the worst. Whether you should wait inside the tube station for the rain to stop, or under the bus stop, or you just run under the rain as it sprinkles your hair and clothes and bag and shopping bags. All three I did last night when I forgot to bring an umbrella.

Oh I've been warned. Just like what Poppy Moore complained in Wild Child, "Ugh, in England, it rains 200 days in a year!" Or something like that I don't remember it precisely.

Another tiring thing, I don't have helpers to clean my room, clean my bathroom, wash my clothes, wash the dishes, bring my stuff for me, buy the groceries, et cetera. I sound like a spoiled brat, call me that as you like, but I'm just reflecting on how sort of easy my life was back when I was in high school. Not the high school part, the daily life part. And as excited as I was to become pedestrian--granted now!--I'm also missing my life before. I am grateful that I could have helpers and driver back home, and all the facilities that maybe I may not get here, I truly am. I am not complaining right now with huge heavy sighs, and as much as I sound like nagging, I'm not. I'm enjoying it. This is a new experience. I'm thankful that I can be here right now, thanks to God and my papa and mama <3

Change

Change is essential for the better. I'm not ready for that change. Or maybe I am, but it doesn't suit me very well. How am I supposed to love the situation where I am right now if I don't feel secure, and liked, and happy? And maybe it's not about security, likeness, and happiness that is the most important in a change--because obviously, the change itself is--but they are all the parts that makes the change worth the fight. Maybe, another maybe, it's just the beginning where I feel I want to go back to my old life, and having fun there, and if I can I don't have to go through all this, but then again, it's all about uncertainties.

It's uncertainties that makes the change so hard to be crossed. It is like I'm a baby all over again, trying to swim in a 4-meters-depth-pool. Okay I'm exaggerating and trying to be poetic (yuck!), as a teenager myself I'm still afraid to swim in a 4-meters-depth-pool.

Back to topic; I want to go back to my old life. YET, I want to move on and try different things. Even though I don't feel secure. Even though I don't feel that I'm not liked. Even though I'm not happy. At the moment. But I believe, this all someday will pass, for a better, brighter future. And on that day, I will feel safe inside and out, loved, and of course, joyful.

So, if you are on the same page as me, just be tough and strive for whatever you've come here for, for all it will be alright in the end. Heard of the saying "It will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, It's not the end"? So, yeah.

Three things I want to inform. Make it four.

1. I'm terrible at posting constantly so I apologize for that. I've been quite busy with all the moving and settling to a new place and new environment. So, yeah. Oh, and sometimes the Internet sucks.

2. The tragic news I saw yesterday from twitter the time I woke up; it was really sad. I've never been a loyal Apple user, but I know Steve Jobs had done amazing works and changed the world literally. The only Apple product I have right now with me is an iPod Touch third generation. I'm planning to buy a Mac for a change in laptop, but maybe next year. And I don't know if I want the iPhone 4S or not, because it'll be sold out in just a short time, I guess, and I also planning to change to the newest Blackberry Bold. Cannot make up my mind right now. But yes, even though I've never met him--Steve Jobs--it was just terrible. Especially after I read Hot Chocolate and Mint's post yesterday about Jobs' speech. Yes, it was one of the greatest speeches I've ever heard (or read).

3. Outfit post. The pictures I took before I left.

ps. I lost my Cotton Ink leather bangle. I'm s.a.d. it's one of my favorite accessories and it matches with everything, but maybe because the clip is easy to get off, so maybe that's why if I wasn't careful it would fall. And it did, somewhere, I don't know yesterday. But fortunately I've wore it a million times so maybe it's still...well, it's still not okay, but maybe you know what I mean :( I want it back.

4. On Tuesday, I had like a major cry out. I mean, I cried in the morning, I went to school, after school I did some research with my classmate for a project we've finished already, and after that when I got to the apartment, I broke down to tears again. Why? Simply because I was homesick. I never thought that moving into another country and living on my own would be this hard. Now I know how it feels and it's... I can't say it's bad, but it's different. Like major changes all around. I don't have anyone to cook for me anymore, I don't my maids to clean my room, wash my clothes, clean my toilet, and etc etc etc. I have to do practically all by myself. It's a good practice to be independent, but it's just too sudden. And I'm not used to being alone.

When I was at my house back in Indonesia, even when my parents went out and my brother hung out with his friends, there would be sounds and noises outside my room (maybe my maids watching a TV or something) but I've never felt that torn up to leave home. I was simply devastated.

I was bbm'ing with my mom and my sister and got eventually better but I remembered everything and I cried all over again. But thanks to God, it was just for the first day of being alone. The next day I was okay, at least I didn't cry.

And now I'm just glad I was kind of over the phase of being a cry baby. I know this is maybe what's best for me. And I also tweeted that I'm getting use to the life right now, I feel independent for doing all the chores (well, not all because I haven't get a permanent place to stay... how BAD). But I also have to get myself more organized, like for example, be neater, cleaner, and just... organized cause if I'm not I may not complete everything in time.

So okay, maybe some of you don't read all the blabs above and just look at the pictures. But I always appreciate people who read, because by reading, we kinda understand. And cause that's what I do when I open people's blogs. I read. And see pictures. Great combination, ey?

Home and Away

Do you know what's worse than leaving home for studying abroad? Not a place to live in that "abroad" part. So that was not the plan, really. I almost got a room in a housing service. But then I thought, shared bathroom? Shared kitchen? I can't live with that! No. Okay, kitchen, maybe yes. But bathroom...? I cannot imagine the need to carry my toiletries every single time I want to bathe. Take that back, I can. Because I went to camps and all that stuff and that required me to bring my towel, shampoo, soap, everything I need in a plastic bag because I didn't want my belongings to touch the dirty wall, which was driving me disgusted. I'm a clean freak, remember? So I can't share a bathroom! There are germs everywhere!

I'm slacking to update my blog. I've been away, for one reason, aaannnddd also caught up for lazy-ing if you can call it that. But anyhow, I will post some outfit pictures I took before I left for the vacatiońę. Kidding. I don't even know how that was pronounced.

Speaking of the pictures above, I had no idea my dad renovating the rooftop of the house! It was like a greenhouse there, minus the glass. FULL of plants. Not that it's a bad thing. My dad has always been keen for plants. He likes flowers and... plants. He water them every day, I think. I'm the contradict. I'm like a no-flower person. I once said I don't have a favorite flower. Does Chanel's camellia count as my favorite flower?

Anyway, I found this out when I was looking for a new spot for my outfit post. But, blame the no-tripod-condition, my outfit posts still looked as "blach". And also because I wasn't comfortable posing around when a huge flying bug flew here and there. I was afraid I would get stung. Talking about not-a-nature-lover.

Nothing special. Just want to share my pre-sweet seventeenth birthday photos. This is the first outfit that I wore for the photoshoot of the day. Thought I'm gonna do it in parts cos I actually have loads.

I really should learn this blogging stuff. I should figure things out before my page looked so dull. And the pictures should've been bigger. Ironic. Cause I took an IT subject in high school. Even though it wasn't the usual IT lesson where you study Photoshop or Corel Draw (I did, though, in grade 7), so maybe that's why I'm still no good at this kind of... techie stuff.

A (Not So) Sudden Wishlist

Here, I would like to share with you what I want to buy now. One problem, couldn't find these in my hometown.

1. CAPE

Both by Topshop. I've been wanting capes since January. No, I've been wanting it since I watched Blair Waldorf wore the beautiful green tea colored cape in the 3rd season of Gossip Girl. Cape has started to trend, and it's so hard to be a trendsetter if you live in a hometown which doesn't have many options to shop. In Surabaya, we only have Zara to count on. Zara is the only shop that's keeping up with the runway in a good and fashionable way. The other ones, well,...
And anyway, I couldn't wear it here, though, so I think maybe I could get it overseas and wear it overseas when the weather's getting cold. I did get one on my last visit to Australia. I love it, haven't wear it, will wear it as soon as I get the chance to.

2. VARSITY JACKETS

I found one in Valleygirl. It has the letter A, to start with, which is the initial of my name. But there's more writing on the bottom, which made me bail on it. And my sister didn't like it, so I thought, maybe I might find a new one in another store (with the letter A). But oopsie doopsie, nope. I didn't find any, except from forever21.com (all above). I'm not planning to buy it online, though. Let's just hope I'm going to Jakarta soon so I could buy one. It's starting to trend, you know. And I've always liked it, when I watched the American movies, where the jocks wore one after a football game, and they lend it to their cheerleader girlfriends. It makes a good fashion.

3. OXFORD SHOES

All from Forever 21 except the last one is from Miu Miu. I'm going crazy with a preppy style right now. I'm head over heels with oxford shoes. (How weird would it be if I'm head over heels with heels? #joking) I have one, but I need to get another one so I don't abuse the one that I have by wearing it over and over again. I need it to have a friend. I want the patent black and white (no picture) but I think it's out to date now (don't care, still want it), but if anybody is willing to give me any of these, I'd be thankful :D Oxford shoes just go with everything (well, except party dresses that is).

4. BLACK FLATS

The first one is from Chanel and the second one is Miu Miu's. You know, I never thought I needed a pair of black flats that much. Knowing me, a "flats" person, and not a "heels" one, I should probably splurge on it because I will be wearing it so often I could lose my count. My Steve Madden flats are now, well, you can call it ugly because I'm overusing it. The Miu Miu came in gold as well.

Ain't this a beau? Gold flats is on my to-buy-list as well and never find one that's perfect. This one is perfect. The color doesn't look cheap. You know, here is a thing, you'd rarely find an expensive-looking-gold-shoes if it's not expensive. True story.

5. OXFORD PLATFORMS

Just... lovely. The color, the model, the oxford-looking-shoes. The old-school-but-also-modern vibe. Miu Miu, Y U so clever? Only one question, which one is better between these two?

6. BLACK TOTES

This one is... Miu Miu. Again. Don't blame me. The label is very teenage-friendly-looking. Whatever that means. It's Prada in a younger version. Actually, I don't prefer what brand for my black-tote-searching-mission specifically, but I want it to look like this. A bit slouchy-looking-model. Because all the black bags I own (together with my sister), stays with her. She says she needs black bags more than me. I agreed. I was wrong. I need it too. Black bag is a staple need. It goes with everything (again, this sentence).

A story, my sister doesn't favor colors. She prefers neutrals. I don't blame her, her friends all dressed in neutrals, she said. When I pointed a colored outfit, she kinda freaked out. Okay I exaggerated a little bit. But she won't buy anything except black, white, grey, navy blue, and beige. She says it's easier to match. She's right, but, heylow? Don't you see Spring 2011 runway? All clash of colors. No color rules in fashion now. Well except, red and pale pink. That's just the worst color combination EVER. For me.

ADDITIONALS

White flats from Forever 21 (why does this brand always have what I want??!). The sandal is from Chanel. Isn't she a gorge? Love the chain. Love the chain. Love the chain.

This one is Bally. Ever since Bally changed their creative director, I never looked at it the same way again. I like their shoe collections, their bag collections, and in this case, maybe even the clothing collections. If I'd ever have a leather trench coat, it would be like this. Not fully covered with leather, I want other fabric combination too. This is just amazing.

I remember I didn't know the socks were my dad's. I thought the motive was cute and I like it and nobody claimed it was anybody's, so I thought, why not wear it? Especially when the heels hurt like hell. I'm not a big fan of heels cos I prefer comfort, for now. I mean, I can't stand heels more than a few hours. I embarrassed myself, now that I recall, when I wore my Louboutin, I let myself fall cause I just could not stand the pain. Then second time wearing it, I took it off and put it in my friend's car, and roaming around at the end of a party without wearing any shoes. Silly, huh?

I even took these pictures on October last year, can you believe that? It was at my friend's seventeenth birthday party. Yes, it was not that formal so I was wearing this. I really miss going to seventeenth birthday parties because, like prom, the guys wore suits and everybody agreed how that affect oneself's look. Okay that's not a concrete reason. The first reason is, we, girls, got to dress up. Second, the guys wore suits.

Okay, okay. Truthfully? Above all that? The togetherness with our high school friends. Now, when I graduated from high school, we wouldn't gather again like that, with our youth energy. Except if we all turn out to be free-spirited parents or so. No. No. That came out wrong. The point is, parties like the sweet seventeenth ones were memorable. Mine was, even though it was not that perfect, but still amazing, for me. I would never ever forget how it felt.

Enough talking about the sweet seventeenth party because the title post is pale. Nawt even related, duh? 'Pale' is because my face looked like a zombie. The end.

I Want to Visit...

I don't know where are these, but the pictures look pretty and the scenes are gorgeous so... yeah, I really wanna go for other vacations. This time in a summer mode.

I've been here two years ago, but it was in winter time (duh?!) so the town was sort of dead. Closed shops and a few locals. I definitely wanna come back to Santorini in summer when the city's alive.

Again, don't know where it is but isn't the circular sofa looks comfy (not to forget the pacman table)? And the surroundings are very much zen.

Hi. Hello. I'm back from my vacay. It was a great trip, more like siblings-bonding-trip because it was just the three of us--my sister, my younger bro, and moi. But am sorry for not posting pics directly and instead giving you pictures that my cousin took before I left hehehe...

The last days that I was in my vacation, I was quite homesick. I wanted to come home and sleep in my own bed and bathe in my own bathroom. I love my bathroom so much. Eh? Yeah. And of course, I miss all the people in my hometown. Not all. I mean, my loved ones; mommy daddy and friends.

Talking about a bathroom, there is no bathroom like home's. Yep, I tweeted that. Because it's TRUE. Even the bathrooms in five stars hotels, not as good as home. Don't you think so too? I think so too (okay, this doesn't make sense). But, as what Tika Panggabean once tweeted--and I don't remember the exact tweet, but here is the main point--the most comfortable place to poo is at home. That is so TRUE. I said true in capital twice. Cos it's TRUE. And sorry for talking disgusting matter over here, but I can't help it. Okay, five stars hotels' bathrooms are close to home's, but still... The worst part of traveling is when you get dirty bathrooms. That is so ew. And I'm a clean freak, so you guys must know how I feel about dirt. Because I hate dirt. Remember when I blogged about I always wash my hands at least five times a day and I don't jump to my bed wearing clothes from outside of my house? Yes, I still do that.

I also wear slippers at home and I wipe spoons and forks in the restaurants as well. You may call me freak, and I won't be mad because yeah, I'm a clean freak. I just said that, remember?

Sooo, next on my post, I promise, won't be about cleanliness. Hopefully about an adequate outfit post. Nyiehehehehe >:P

Now I need to start packing. I've chose all the outfits I want to bring and need to put them in my luggage. Oh, the art of packing. I have a love-hate relationship on that. Mostly hate, though. Packing, especially for winter outfits, is a pain in the arse. Seriously. Your suitcase will weigh 25kg even before you shop anything! How would you like that, huh? I don't. But at least at winter I don't get grumpy like I did in the summer :s Oh, I couldn't bear the heat. I was like, in a no-talking-zone that I made myself. Sun is good, but a too-hot-sun is not. But what sun is not too-hot? RIGHT? That's why I like to travel during spring, which I haven't try doing -.-

Traveling in spring is the best. The outfits are great (dresses, floppy hats, not too cold for thin blouses and not too hot for tights *happy smiley face), the weather is puurrrfect, the sakuras are blooming (if you go to Japan :P), the tulips are also... blooming (Netherlands, nuff said), the... the... the sun doesn't set too quickly--unlike winterrr >:( You got it, aight.

Buuut, I can't complain now that I've bought the tickets and everything and I've chose to go there (Oz) in winter. Better be enjoying it :D In winter I can drink hot cocoa without sweating and I can wear boots and layering and okay, enough.

I just had a wonderful and amazing photo shoot yesterday with my friends. I was the only model with 5 photographers heheheh :) They were great! Five of them got talents. Gonna share the pictures (hopefully) soon. Not gonna make any promise remembering I haven't upload my farewell class trip too. Sigh -_-"

Just spent the last two and a half hours planning on my next trip to Australia and also to visit my sister there. Skype is a savior. With that video call service we could plan everything ahead of time together, even if we're on different time zones and all. And also thanks to my cousin who had been there last year for giving her itinerary so I just need to make small changes in between the days. This would be my first time to Australia. Up till I was 15 I only spent my holiday around Asia and that did not include Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Korea, and Malaysia. Right now I'm braving myself up to be more adventurous and go on a trip without my parents. Supah dupah excited! :D Will post anything again soon!

I Thought I Was Done Studying

Okay. So I think the title didn't come out right. Bear with me. I was in the middle of my holiday and yet I should open the IELTS book for practice. It was like high school all over again, minus the Bahasa, IT, biology, maths, and art. Kiddin'. Well, sorta. Because I always feel this guilt and uneasy feeling every time I did something else when I need to be doing something...else, like studying. But now it's over and I can finally enjoy my holiday to the fullest. Wrong.

As I said, I will not just spend this break laying around in my bed, watching movies, and read magazines or books, I will find some mood-boosting activities even though my mood is boosted already by doing those lazy stuff I mentioned above. It's good to have a me-time and doing nothing except those, but those activities are not good for your health. Like, literally. So I sleep, wake up, eat, watch movies, sleep, wake up, eat, watch movies. How was that healthy? RIGHT? All that's left of it is probably increased number on your weight scale, which, by the way, I do not have. Seriously, I don't have a weight scale in my house which is why I often lose track on how much I weigh. But that doesn't matter because soon, I will be hitting the gym. Well,... I want to. Gotta motivate myself!!!

A handmade necklace. Or not. I compiled all the pendants I have when I was a child (when the silver necklaces were in... *erm*) and hang them on a black string... which I bought when I was a child. Too. *grin*

I love the colors (pink and turquoise) combined together. They remind me of bubble gums.

The outfit above is the one I wore for a night out with my best friends on the weekend. I really like a night out on the weekend because the vibe is so alive. The places were crowded, but... alive. Everybody seemed like having a good time. And so did I. Good for people-watching too!

Speaking of that, when I once went out by myself--or was it when I waited for my friends to come, I forgot--I usually people-watched. I observed what others were doing, what they were wearing, what they were talking (pssst... eavesdropper heheh :P). It was just fun. Like that. Watching people doing what they did, it was like putting yourselves out of your mind, forgetting your problems for a split second. I didn't do it that often but when I got the chance, I did.

Oh. About the title, there is this new food court named Eat&Eat opened up in town and I went there for the third or fourth time last Thursday. I think it was inspired by some food courts in Singapore or Jakarta. Its decoration is very good. It's like this old Chinese market and... stuff. If I have the chance to take pictures, I will. Cos... well, you know, it would be so awkward taking outfit pictures there and all. Heheh :P

Anyway, will be gone tomorrow till Friday to have a grad trip with my classmates. Nowhere far, just out of town. Pictures will come on my next post, hopefully. If not, then, I'll substitute with a few outfit posts first then the trip photos. Whatever. Okay.

Summer After High School

Okay. So actually the pictures were not taken in a summer after high school. But I was inspired by Katy Perry's song "The One That Got Away". Oh, I love that song. And it will be weird if I change it to "summer before high school". These pictures were photographed by my sister.

I'm still up. Yes, I am. It's 01:36. I have to change the habit of sleeping very very late like this. It's not healthy, I know. But hmmm... I guess I feel like there's not enough time in a day. I need more. And time flies these days. Yesterday was New Year 2011, and now it's early June. Wow.

I guess, we, as respected individuals, should start do something that's meaningful for us and others. I mean, don't just sit back and watch people do the deeds for you. YOU, yourselves, can do it for YOU. And others of course. What's the meaning of life if you just play around and having fun in your own little world, not caring about others who are in need? Do something. And I probably need to say and stick and say and stick it to myself again and again so I won't forget. So I would do something too. Something not just for my interest, but for others' too.

A Long Summer Break

I don't know why but my choice in dressing up quite depend on the season. I automatically pick brighter colors for spring and summer and darker colored clothes for autumn and winter. Although in my country there's no such thing like four seasons, but you know what I mean. I love seeing bright and pastel colored clothes hanging on my clothes hanger.

I hope this holiday gets better and better *squeals*

Right now I'm watching DVDs. It's been a long long time since I went for a movie marathon. All the hard work for two years pretty much kept me away from entertainment and stuff. Or less entertainment, that is. So now it's like a pay-back time >:]

But I won't be slacking just because I can. I'm still gonna get some useful activities for this holiday. After all, life isn't just about the fun. It's about learning and get your hands dirty or sweating your backs or whatever idioms I'm trying to create here. So, have a balance in life :)

That Hand Me Down Vest

Vest. Over-sized outerwear. Whatever you call it, it's amazing. For me. I got this from my cousin. She owned it for quite some time, I think in her high school period. That means like 10 years ago, probably. And so one day I borrowed this vest and she decided to give it to me. I like this outerwear a lot and I wear it quite often too because of its versatility and easy to match with anything. I wore this outerwear for two outfit posts in a row. Haha. Forgive me ;) So for that night I paired it with my sister's elita dress, a Mulberry Alexa, and a pair of Tod's loafers.

That night was my after-exam party. Celebrated it with my classmates who fought together with me for a pass. It felt such a relief for finishing a two-years-course. Together we've felt sleepless nights, killer exam preps, the D-day of the first exam (maths for majorities), and all. Okay I'm exaggerating. But seriously, we did the same thing typically: pro.cra.sti.nate. Yep, if you read my year book later there would be similar words considering all the procrastinations we did.

Dinner at La Rucola. Have I ever mentioned this place somewhere in my posts below, before? If I haven't, then I'll suggest this Italian restaurant in Surabaya to you guys. It gets more crowded at 8 pm or later, so if you want to eat here, make a reservation or come at 6...or so. Usually what I'll order is their pizza (seafood and carnivora), rigatoni, ravioli, and the best dessert ever: chocolate molten cake which they called delizzia. Or something like that. I don't remember all the names exactly, but yep, that's pretty much of it.

Anyway, I gotta say I'd miss high school VERY MUCH. Although, I have to study things I dislike (SCIENCE!!!) or catching up with deadlines and dealing with moody slash annoying teachers, I'm sure high school would make one of the best memories of all time. Apart from the worst scenarios, I must be missing the chit chat before class, the snacks sharing, the study group, the process of learning itself, the caring friends, the helpful teachers, and all in all, my one and only school.

Yes! I graduated last night! Not a high school student anymore. Indescribable feeling. High school will be one of the best moments of my life. Mmm... But I'm not gonna show you the pictures today. I haven't copy it from my camera to my laptop. Hectic, I brought three cameras last night.

Not In the Mood of Pictures-Posting

I think I'm going to post my thoughts for tonight. But now that I'm in front of my screen, ready to write, I don't know what to write. Seriously!

Oh yeah, I'm going to post an outfit post as soon as I could cos the pictures are not on me. My friends took them using her camera and I'm not sure I could post anything in the next couple of months because the final exams are coming soon and I gotta study, couldn't procrastinate anymore or I'll regret the result later.

I've wasted my time lately, I don't know why. I miss those times when I was up for studying everyday. Like, there, focus, and my works were done. But as I grow older I'm getting lazier. This. Is. BAD.

Because all I want is to make my parents proud. I mean, they're so nice to me. They don't isolate me at home just because the big tests are near. They still allow me to go to parties and go to the malls or eat in restaurants and everything. They don't push me to study all the time, they understand when I've done a lot in a day. So I want to pay them back, by doing my best. And why am I still blogging now? Okay, never mind. I'll go straight to my maths book right after I shut this laptop down (where is it again?)

You know, this feeling suddenly came up on the way back to my house. I was thinking, how would I feel when I graduate from high school? Yes, I want to end the exams so badly, but I don't want to lose the high school moments. I still want to be in high school. I believe it is the best time of (mostly) everybody's lives. That's why when people took a short cut and directly go to foundation or college, I resisted the idea because I don't want to cut 2 years of my high school lives. I mean, those 2 years, these past two years I've experienced, might be the MOST memorable ones out of 3 years in high school. I surely don't want to miss it, and I'm glad I didn't. I don't want to end this even though there are a lot of homework, tests, drama here and drama there, it's still... high school. I bet uni won't be the same.

Speaking of that, I'm taking a huge risk right now. I haven't apply to any uni. Yet. I haven't take an IELTS or TOEFL test. I mean, come awn! What happened to my organized-personality? Where did that go? I was still organized last year.

Once in a while, I got disappointed in myself because of this. Why a person can change in just a year? Including me. Changes are sometimes inconvenient and in my case they truly are. The changes that changed around me are too much to handle. Like, a lot happened. Just a lot.

I want to be a good person handling this but sometimes you can't control yourself to be that person you want to be. Sometimes you got drifted away to be somebody you DON'T want to be. It's just sad.

I want to get away. To a place where I don't know anybody and being alone, by myself, isn't a big deal. Here, in my country, or especially in my hometown, I still see some stereotype where people who go to a particular place by themselves to drink a coffee (for example in coffee shops) and read, or grocery shopping, or even any shopping are considered as "no-friends" or people would look at you with these looks I can't describe. I did that. Once, twice, and I didn't bother to care anymore. Because I love the feeling of being alone (not lonely) and able to reflect, able to have a quality time with myself, it's nice. Now people who look at those (independent) people--I may say--with particular looks, that's the one that ain't. You know, ain't nice. They just don't understand the sweetness of being able to treat your body with a good spa for yourself, or shop for clothes without others' opinions--just yours, or... or enjoying yourself reading and drinking coffee. I mean, learn. Learn to be yourself. You can see the difference when you're with others and when you're by yourself.

I reflect a lot when I'm alone. Like, A LOT. I think of EVERYTHING. Everything in life, my family, my friends, my education, my future, my dreams, my everything. Yes, sometimes my reflections are not that good. Sometimes I figured my mistakes. Sometimes I remembered the embarrassing stuff. But that's what reflections are for. To reflect. To think about next time, how would you behave, what would you do if you're on the same position again.

Eh, maybe I've talked too much now. But that's just because I like writing. And thinking. And talking. Reflections.

So here is my outfit for a spring look, though we don't have four seasons here in Indonesia but actually it's like spring/summer-windy/sunny kind of weather all time long in this country. I like the colors.

I'm actually in the middle of studying. Or not. Okay, okay, I'm in the middle of blogwalking after studying. Blech. And I will study some more after this. The big final exam is coming in one month and a half and I should really start being a geek to be able to cover the whole materials for 6 subjects.

Anyhoo, my room is a total mess due to the books and art stuff I brought home. I practically moved the contents of my locker from school to my bedroom. The heavy folders and the 300++ pages of textbooks. I'm quite messy for a girl, but ironically I'm a clean freak. Fact about me. Yeah. I always change my clothes (from uniform or any hangout outfits to "home outfit") before I jump to my bed, I clean the spoon and fork and bowl and plate with tissue in the restaurant (talking about environmentally friendly by wasting many tissues), and all sorts. That's really ironic cause I know, piled up stuff is very attractive for dust to stay on, but oh well...

I WANT A NEW ROOM! AND SHELVES.

Oh. And I'm planning to make some bow ties myself. I never see any shop selling for bow ties that I could buy. And I need to clean my laptop. And all this mess. GAH. A lot of cleaning and studying.

"That's Just Who I Am"

So I'm now wearing my shower cap while blogging. Also listening to Taylor Swift's Speak Now.

Now I'm off of my shower cap and listening to Jay Sean's Down.

Anywaaay, because it's Friday, I decided to wear batik. It was tailor made and I thought why not make batik a little fun than it already is? So I designed a romper. The occasion was Chinese New Year. It's red. And it's batik. Double nationalities, ey? I like batik so much because the pattern is beautiful. There are rarely same patterns out there and I really appreciate the makers of batik because they are so passionate and creative. I'm planning to make more and more. I have around three (or is it more I cannot remember) batik right now. It's this red, blue, and a purple one. Batik suits teenagers too, when we pick the right style. So, wear batik proudly, like I do :)

I just had a dinner with two of my classmates in La Rucola, a well known Italian restaurant in Surabaya. I like going there because it serves good Italian food (okay, what else? I mean, what more reasons could I tell you I'm confused or is it that I'm sleepy I cannot focus?) But you should go there to try it yourselves, it's good, really.

And then continued our night by watching Burlesque. T'was okay. Christina looked pretty and sincerely nice when her bangs were still straight and that long blond curly hair, with her attitude and all. I actually never noticed Cam Gigandet's hotness before, but when I saw him in this movie, and saw his eyes... WHOA. I was like, who is this guy? Those eyes are booyoohteefool.

But seriously. I need to start studying for the final exam soon. So yeah. Gonna go get some sleep and wake up tomorrow...pretty. Hahah ;)

These rings are two of my best bargains stuff. I got them for only like 20,000 rupiah each. It's like less than US$4 for both! Hahaha and they go with almost everything I wear! :D

Just bought this turquoise-teal-colored skirt from Zara TRF. I gotta say this is a beautiful piece for Spring 2011. Zara is real quick when implementing trends from the runways. This is the only shop worth looking in Surabaya when it comes to fine quality of stylish wardrobe potential with affordable price. Well, some other brands are good too but they don't have a shop of their own. We can find some of them in Sogo but that's just it. Well, at least Dorothy Perkins will open its shop after this :) But really, Forever 21, Topshop, and H&M are highly demanded here.

Anyway, can't wait to wear it! I've been thinking on quite a lot of outfit to mix-match this skirt with.

Back to Being Nice and Girly

Anyway, I've finished my IA. And for those who doesn't know what it stands for, it stands for Internal Assessment. What I have left is the external assessment, which is the final exam, later this may. Gotta study hard before I play hard. On June. Or July. And August. And September. Till uni starts. Teehee ;D

Another news; I'm quite addicted to green beans now. In Indonesia, we call it kacang hijau or in informal way it's kacang ijo. Where have I been all my life?! I never liked it and now boombaza I eat it three times a week. No. Four times. I don't know about tomorrow but I just bought one today after three times in a row from Monday. Geesh.

Oh wait. I still have one more IA, if I could recall. Yep. That's art. Need two more studio work and improve previous studio works. Hah. Lotta work yea.

And I gotta do my maths and religion right now.

I Feel the Need

Sometimes, I question myself what's my purpose on making a blog. I've started this blog in 2008 and I wrote personal stuff and all. And then I was inspired to start a fashion blog by a random blogger I'm not sure who, I forgot (that shucks!). But I think I want to make a blog who can inspire people too. I want to share how I dress and my passion. Now even though I don't blog often and I'm lacking skills on Photoshop, blogging layout, and stuff, and merely because sometimes I don't have adequate photos to share, I still want to make this blog successful. So please bare with me here heheh :)

Oh. I forgot to mention I'm done with my first mock exam last Friday. Oohh that felt good. I was treating myself with a laid back weekend. One word: kind-of-heaven. Okay that's three words, but that's just because I don't want to exaggerate. I write what I felt. It has been so long since I enjoy my weekend because last two weeks I spent it doing a presentation. Buh.

Now that my first mock exam was done and I only have two internal assessments left (and a bunch of materials to study before the big exam) and a "trial exam" for art next week (SO THAT'S ACTUALLY A LOT OF WORK, AIGHT?) I feel relaxed, enjoying my evening, watching movies, browsing the net, blogwalking, and blogging. Although I'll keep all the TV or movie series after the exam because they are SO addictive.
